Meet Kathy Buckley
Kathy Buckley will bring something that’s sorely missing to Harrisburg to fight for all of us: common sense.
The common sense of a working mom who knows what it’s like to juggle a busy schedule, raising the kids, and paying the bills.
The common sense of an engineer and business woman whose company Governor Shapiro turned to when it was time to re-build I-95 in Philadelphia.
The common sense of a community volunteer who has stood side-by-side with other parents and residents just like her to help at her children’s school and sports, her church, and civic events.
Kathy will bring something else to Harrisburg: the willingness to work across the aisle to find common ground solutions to the challenges we face. She will say “no more” to the political games and hyper-partisanship that stop anything from getting done to help our families, seniors, kids and workers.
Born and raised in Radnor Township, Kathy has lived in the 168th District for more than 30 years. She is a graduate of Agnes Irwin and attended Drexel University where she earned both a BS in Commerce & Engineering and a BS in Civil Engineering. She brings that educational background to her role with Buckley & Company – the family business that Pennsylvania turned to when I-95 needed emergency repairs to re-open the highway in less than a month after a horrific accident made it unusable.
A proud mom to three sons, Kathy understands the heartbreak of losing a child young, when her third child was taken by terminal illness. That loss helped direct Kathy into doing even more for her community, and her service to others has included working to preserve green space and trails, and volunteering with the Edgmont Community Day, watershed clean-ups, local charities, and her church.
Today, Kathy is taking her professional skills, personal life experiences, and commitment to helping others to a new level by running for State Representative to end the political gridlock and get real results. Because that’s what common sense calls for.
